The Department of Management and the Institute for Management Innovation are proud to announce the launch of the IMI Competition (IMIC) Group! This group is aimed towards BCom or BBA students who are passionate for case competitions. Those with expertise in Accounting, Finance and Marketing are particularly encouraged to apply. Through case competitions and conferences, team members will also gain valuable networking exposure to industry professionals.
Select team members will participate in competitions recommended by the Executive Committee in addition to preferred ones of their choice. Full competition registration costs, additional resources and any preparation needed to help win the competitions will also be provided.
Application details:
Who: BCom and BBA students from year 2 to 4 are eligible to apply in a team of 4. It is highly recommended that all team members be in the same year. (If you are unable to form a team of 4, you may still apply as individuals or in a team of less than 4 members and we’ll see what we can do under the condition that you’re shortlisted.)
How: Team leaders needs to submit one cover letter on behalf of all members. (Please note, team leader is required here only for application purposes, not necessarily for the case competitions. Once chosen for IMIC Group, your team may decide on the team structure.)
In one cover letter, each member is to highlight his or her past participation in case competitions and any work-related experiences in 1 paragraph (total of 4 paragraphs for the whole team). If applicable, it’s recommended that the team leader add another paragraph at the end to explain any prior experiences competing as a team.
When: Applications start today and the deadline is at noon, August 16th (Saturday).
Please submit applications to imic.utm@gmail.com. Only the shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews with the Executive Committee during the following week.
